SYNOPSIS:
Human life was created by God to move in His rhythms—of work and rest, creation and renewal. Yet in a world driven by endless productivity, these sacred rhythms are easily forgotten.
This course invites us to rediscover the Sabbath as both a divine gift and an act of holy resistance. Together, we’ll explore how the Sabbath forms us into a people who live differently—attuned to the rhythm woven into the fabric of creation and covenant, and shaped by a countercultural practice that resists the tyranny of busyness, consumerism, and exploitation.
Lecturer: Rev Ian Lee
Dates: Sat, 24 & 31 Jan 2026
Time: 9am to 12pm
Venue: Plaza Hall
Ian has been a Methodist Pastor for the last 12 years. In his own journey, he’s struggled with insomnia and burnout, making the topic of Sabbath one that is very close to his heart. In 2023, he graduated from Regent College, Vancouver with a Master of Arts, focusing on Old Testament studies.
